Buying an RV is exciting. Often the feelings of all the fun you and your family will have with your new vehicle make it hard to concentrate on some of the crucial choices you have to make concerning the type of RV that is reasonable for you. There are several differences in the many styles of RV but two really big differences that should be considered is whether you want a gasoline powered RV or a diesel powered RV.

There are points about both that people who choose them love and what is right for you is a personal assessment, but not one that should be made lightly. There are some myths surrounding the different types of fuel systems, such as the one that proclaims diesel to be a cheaper fuel. At some times it is cheaper than regular gasoline, and at other times it is really more expensive. Diesel, like gasoline, is subject to the same types of marketplace fluctuations and reasons for cost inflation. However, where diesel can achieve some points in the cost comparison is in the total used. Diesel is a denser fuel and not as much is required to travel the same distance as gas.

Availability may be a factor for you and should be measured. In some areas it is difficult to find diesel fuel. If you live near a highway or route heavily trafficked by large trucks you are more likely going to have diesel available locally than if you live in areas removed from that type of traffic. Another myth is that diesel engines last longer and start more reliably than gasoline engines. This is true in most cases. Diesel engines tend to last longer than gasoline engines.

Strength vs. speed: Diesels tend to be the powerhouses to the gasoline engine's speedster. If you are pulling a big load a diesel engine has more torque and will get it moving more rapidly with less wear than a gasoline engine. However, today's RVs are equipped with gasoline or diesel engines that are well adapted to hauling the load of the vehicle and usually a tow-along as well. A gasoline engine may be a better choice if you plan on doing a lot of local road driving vs. highway driving where the ability to start quickly from a stop is more important.

Gasoline powered RVs will probably be slightly more cost efficient at the initial purchase since diesel engines tend to be more expensive than gasoline engines. Those who love diesel consider it a fair trade for the longer lasting engine. Diesel engines are also a little louder, even with recent technology than gasoline engines, but when running at an efficient speed on the highway the difference will be negligible.

Looking back in history we see that RV camping has been something enjoyed by many people for a great many years. It is a great way for a family to spend some great quality time together having fun. The memories and stories of these camping trips will be told for years to come.

Some people consider the pioneers to be the first actual RVers that existed. It is hard to say as it has been going on for such a long time. Back then it was not the fun that it is now. They were on a very different mission than the people that go RV camping these days. There was no time for them to have fun.

The enjoyment that families have together now on their own or as part of a group has helped to instill some of the traditional values that many thought had been lost. Families seem to share a lot more bonding when they get away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life.

To enjoy an RV camping trip the first thing a person needs is an RV. There are many different types that a person can choose from, and it can be affordable if you take the time to look around. If you are handy at fixing things you may find one that just needs a bit of work.

After the trailer has been bought the only real cost associated with RV camping is that of the site that you will stay at. These can fluctuate depending on location and what you want in the site. Sites that provide hydro cost more than ones that don't. Looking into the options that are around before making a decision can help you ensure that the site you choose will make you happy during your stay.

If you are a true camper you may choose to do it the old fashioned way. This means that you will want a campsite without the luxury of hydro. There are still a lot of people that are doing this nowadays, believe it or not. They find it a way to get back to reality and in touch with nature and the things immediately around them. There are still a lot that can be enjoyed even without hydro. Think of the fishing and cooking over an open campfire and the fun that can be had.

No matter where you live there are a ton of campsites around. The US and Canada have some of the most beautiful ones that a person can see. Many of them offer additional services for families that go RV camping. Whether the beach is what you are after or if you want access to a boat for fishing, there are so many choices that are around that you will find something that will meet your needs and your budget as well. A lot of these campgrounds have things for kids to enjoy, or they host special events on holidays as well.

Using the internet can help you make the proper choice for your family's RV camping trip. They have pictures that illustrate the look of the sites; they will give detailed lists of what services and extras that they offer as well. Once you find what you are after you can make all the arrangements that you need quickly and easily. Just make sure that you print your confirmation. This can save a hassle that could occur down the road.

San Juan del Sur has much to offer for any type of real estate investor. There is a remarkable diversity of people who have come to call this town home, whether they are investors, building a second home, or have moved here full time. The small seaside village has kept it's Nicaraguan cultural roots even though there are many world influences and tourist conveniences.

Originally San Juan Del Sur was a simple fishing village, and there are still many local families who depend on the sea to make a living. The bay is home to a small fleet of pangas – small fishing boats, most often outfitted with an outboard motor, and sometimes a canopy over the open hull for some shade from the sun. These little boats have always reminded me of a Boston Whaler.

A popular attraction in Nicaragua is sport fishing, and many of these sport fishing expeditions leave from the bay of San Juan Del Sur. The type of boat you can charter all depends on your budget – there are top notch luxury sports fishing outfits, ranging all the way down to the open hull Pangas outfitted with a cooler in the middle for extra seating. Regardless of how fancy your boat is, your luck is probably more dependant on finding an experienced captain.

Probably the most well known attraction to San Juan Del Sur is the world class surfing that is available almost year round. The constant offshore winds create the perfect shaped wave, and the many sand bottom beach breaks are easy to surf – what else do you need? Oh, and did I mention that you can often find a break that you will have all to yourself. There are still many opportunities to invest in 'surf property', and have a private surf retreat with easy access to your surf break of choice.

There will never be a shortage of events to keep you busy, whether you live her or are just passing through. Popular tourist destinations are the surfing beaches, the turtle nesting tours, canopy zip lines, horseback riding, and atv expeditions. And for those of us that live here year round, not a week goes by without one of your friends having a birthday, or a gathering at the open stage, or fireworks for one of the dozens of holidays that are celebrated here – when you have many cultures all living in the same village, the number of holiday celebrations triples, and you learn to celebrate them all, regardless of your own heritage.

Those that like finer dining will not be disappointed. Within the last few years a number of mouth watering options have opened. There is now something to suit everybody's tastes from California Fusion to Mediterranean to Italian. With all of the restaurants and bistros available in the village of San Juan del Sur, it can be difficult to stay home to cook.

Take a trip to San Juan del Sur to see for yourself. You will find yourself in love with this tiny town. After your first visit you will be planning your second. It is obvious why San Juan del Sur real estate has become the hot place to invest.

Its not always that easy to understand caravan insurance, if you ever had to claim you may find yourself out of pocket if you do not take the right type of cover, or even enough cover. A caravan is a big investment and should be thought of that way when you come to insure or renew your caravan insurance. At the time of purchase, be very clear on your needs, what cover you need and how much you want to pay.

If you own a touring caravan, your insurance needs may be totally different to if you were renting out a static caravan on site. You can insure your caravan fully comprehensive, or you can choose to go with just third part fire and theft. Whatever you do, do not buy caravan insurance just on price there is a huge void between best, and cheapest, coverage is more important.

Being vacant for at least some of the year, a static caravan should be covered for both break-in and of course vandalism. Installing good window and door locks, a good alarm system and a few smoke alarms will help to pair down the cost of your insurance. Storing a static caravan at a secure site is a very good idea both for security risks and for reducing your premiums.

If you have a touring caravan and take it to Europe you will need to ensure you have cover to do so, to ensure no nasty shocks. Many insurance policies provide cover for taking the caravan to Europe, normally for a certain amount of days, though some don't. Mainland Europe is a popular – and excellent – place for caravanners to go touring with their caravan, but you need to do it right.

It is vital that you take out your magnifying glass and read the fine detail of any caravan insurance policy before you take it out, you dont want any surprises later on. There are different limits to paying out on items and they vary between providers quite a bit, make sure you have decent coverage. Shop around and compare what each company provides, as with anything it pays to look around beforehand.

In these testing economic times, caravan holidays are becoming an ever popular way of getting a value for holiday. Younger families are uncovering the fun (and savings) that a caravan holiday can provide. Caravans are now the king of holidays, replacing Spain as the top holiday spot for us Brits.
