Your team is going to the baseball championship and everyone is thrilled. A lot of responsibility will rest on your shoulders because of being the coach of a traveling team. Coaches have many roles besides being a coach – a teacher, mentor, role model, and occasionally a disciplinarian. If you want your team to be a success, you must keep your players under your control and help them to be enthusiastic off and on the field. These suggestions will prepare you for the baseball championship, with tips on how to coach and what to avoid doing.

The most important thing you need as a coach is to have a positive and supportive attitude. Study after study has shown that we perform more effectively when we reinforce good behavior with praise, rather than picking away at self-esteem with negativity. Of course you shouldn't be too easy on them or just ignore laziness, but when you call your players out on this activity you need to do so in a productive and positive manner. So, rather than discouraging the team member by screaming, "You're not running fast enough, you loser," shout something more encouraging, like, "That's it — keep it moving!" Hurry up!

I am sure you have better pace!Try establishing goals with your team and achieving them. You should be sure to have daily team meetings to determine how everyone is doing in reaching their athletic goals. An encouraging situation has be there. Fostering a team spirit is critical on, and off, the field. Your team players cannot cooperate during the game if they are battling each other outside the game.

You need to set firm guidelines, as well as knowing the game, in order to gain compliance from your team. It's important you clearly state what sort of behavior you expect of your players prior to the baseball championship.

You are not just a coach to these team members; you will act as a guide and mentor to them. Taking your role seriously by setting a good example, setting boundaries, and encouraging your players is the thing to do! Follow these simple rules are your team will reach its maximum potential.
