Cabo San Lucas – Mexico's Golf Riviera
One thing Cabo San Lucas is very famous for are its championship golf courses. In fact, Los Cabos was popularly called Mexico's Golf Riviera.
The city had its 1st championship golf course in 1990 at Palmilla. Since then, it has gone non-stop with its construction of high end world famous golf courses now numbering in six exceptional ones.
The very 1st golf course in Los Cabos was designed by no less than the famous Hall of Famer Jack Niclaus after being commissioned by Don Koll, a successful developer and dedicated golfer. It was located in Palmilla Resort.
The effect to Los Cabos of this golf course has become quite phenomenal that in no time, more world renowned golf courses were built. After Palmilla, Jack Niclaus designed two more golf courses in Cabo San Lucas.
The golf courses in Cabo were all built great, but Golf Cabo del Sol Desert Course grabbed the title of being the best in Cabo. This great golf course also garnered a spot in Golf Digest's top ten best golf courses in the world. Other golf courses in Cabo which are not far from being the world's best are El Dorado, another golf course designed by Jack Niclaus; The Raven and Cabo Real Golf Club which both have 18 holes and the Querencia Golf Courses.
The list does not end there. Golf Cabo del Sol Ocean Course, another one designed by Jack Niclaus, is also included in Gold Digest's ten best golf courses in the whole world. Its 5th and 17th holes were also included in the world's 500 best holes listed by Golf Magazine. Another golf course in Cabo that is also becoming a world attraction is the Mayan Country Club.
Of course, along with their being world-renowned and with their excellent facilities and amenities, these golf courses may be a little expensive. But with these courses designed expertly by golf enthusiasts themselves, you will even be getting more than your money's worth.
Indeed, Cabo San Lucas is a haven not only for beach lovers and surfers and divers. Golfers also have their own paradise in the place called Cabo San Lucas.
